Hello, and welcome to our class! My name is Ashlee Stewart. This is my 11th year teaching at Silver Trail, and this will be my 5th year working with 5th graders! I spent 3 years in 1st grade, 3 years in 3rd grade, a year in 1st/2nd grade combo, a partial year as a 4/5 combo, and four incredible years in 5th grade!
I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, where I attended kindergarten through high school, it wasn't until after I moved to Kuna, Idaho over 18 years ago that I decided this would be an amazing place to continue my dream of teaching. While raising my children I enrolled in University of Phoenix in 2007 and began working towards my Associate of Arts degree in Psychology, and then I continued on to receive my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education k-8 in 2011.
I have three beautiful children of my own; Zoe graduated and is currently working towards her degree in nursing and is also a shift lead at a local Dutch Bros. Zane is a junior this year, and my youngest Zach is in 9th grade. I also have the amazing gift of four additional children that I am so very honored and proud to claim; Alec and Jessica have both graduated and blessed us with beautiful grandbabies, Nova and Kehlani are both 2 now! Brianna has also graduated and is taking some time to do what makes her heart happy and is a manager at another local Dutch Bros, and last but not least our youngest is AJ and he is an 8th grader this year! If you come and support our local Kavemen you will see us at the KMS 8th grade football games, and the Freshman and Varsity football games!
It is because of my own personal experiences in school and with my children that I am the teacher and person that I am today. We had large class sizes and not a lot of individualized attention as learners. I have made it my mission as your child's teacher to make sure that your child never feels unloved, unwelcome, unappreciated, unheard or untaught. I will work hard throughout the year to make sure that I am spending time getting to know your child, and their specific needs to ensure they are receiving exactly what their amazing brains need.
